A sclerotic orphan prone to fits of obscene anger as well of moments of calm, Tarra Thompson quickly rose through the ranks of the elite Long Beach art scene of the mid 1990's. After a much heralded break-out showing at the Lycee Francais de San Luis Obispo, Ms. Thompson became disenchanted with the art world. She is most well known for storming out of the Tate after declaring that the Turner Prize was created by and given to, "a bunch of fucking cunts." Her most recent showing is considered a comeback and has been highly anticipated. Ms. Thompson can currently be found riding the Los Angeles metro. -Adams Leff, art critic |
