Artist Joshua Newborn also known as Jaz1 is pushing the limits of creativity in modern day art and music. Born in the city of Hollywood CA, Joshua’s road to art began developing quickly when he was very young. He was the only child of Arthur and Laurel Newborn and to pacify his time they bought him sketch books. At the age of 17 an article in his high school newspaper read “Newborn LA’s own Van Gogh”. The article was based on a recreation of the movie poster for Wyatt Earp that Joshua airbrushed on a classroom wall. In his twenties on a quest to find his destined path, He picked up a paint brush and began to invest time into creating his new artistic style. In 2002 he established Newborn Soul, a business that provides professional custom art and graphic design. Over 10 years have gone by since he picked up that brush and the work of Jaz1 can be found all over the world in homes and businesses. His style has become a one of a kind mixture of graffiti, abstract and illustration that is taking on a new life of its own.
