Symmetrics works by christine hale	Jun 14 - Jul 11, 2008 Opening Reception Sat, June 14th, 8-12pm

Christine Hale (aka Love, Christine) is an artist, musician, photographer, illustrator, writer, and designer. Her new project is called SYMMETRICS and is the synthesis of her photography and music she composed and recorded with fellow musician and animator Antonio Ringor.
Each photograph is the combination of natural and man-made architecture resulting in a harmonious composition. Six selected photographs are accompanied with a corresponding song/instrumental composition created by exploring/interpreting the textures and emotions of color and sound.

The music is another synthesis of different schools of music: minimalism, experimental, visual, jazz, pop, impressionist, etc., utilizing a wide variety of acoustic and electronic instruments and vocal arrangements. During the performance, video by Antonio Ringor will be projected onto the wall that moves in sync with the music.
Another important element placed within the music is the sound and vibration of crystal bowls from professional sound healer Sky Dunn. The healing aspect became a part of the project after studying the symmetrical frequencies of color and sound and finding that their vibrations have an effect on the body in that it creates a balance within the bodies own vibrations, that which leads to inspiration and emotion. One goal was to translate the colors directly into their corresponding sounds, which will be explored upon in future shows, in this project we followed our intuitive interpretations. For now, the presence of a conscious effort to create change within the viewer is a part of the idea of symmetrics: harmony and balance within art, music, and the self.

The entire experience should envelop the viewer in an environment of healing and beauty, which will create inspiration and change-for the better. Viewers are encouraged to participate by drawing or writing down thoughts and posting on the wall. The project expands even further in encouraging other musicians to create music inspired from the photographs following the basic rules. All work will be compiled on a website: www.symmetrics.org .

The logo represents the combination of sound and vision. The logo is further animated to show the universal connection of the concept with the logical transformation of these ideas merging to eventually form the infinity sign: life. The fuel for all of this is based of the most important of all concepts: love. Love is the fuel for truth and inspiration. When two things merge, a harmony and balance is established which creates a foundation for evolution and growth.

SYMMETRICS is more than just a show, it is an idea, a study, a movement and way of living. Symmetrics is the synthesis of sound and vision, music and art. It is based on/inspired by one of the fundamental rules of symmetry, namely that beauty is the result of balance or harmonious arrangement. Symmetry pervades the inner world of the structure of matter, the outer world of the cosmos, and the abstract world of mathematics itself (Lederman, Hill 13). Symmetrics is the science of sound and vision.
